Find Your Perfect Fit

by Joyce Meyer - posted March 12, 2013

[Urged on] by faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance; and he went, although he did not know or trouble his mind about where he was to go. —Hebrews 11:8

If you are doing nothing with your life because you are not sure what to do, then I recommend that you pray and begin trying some things. It won’t take long before you will feel comfortable with something. It will be a perfect fit for you. Think of it this way: When you go out to buy a new outfit, you probably try on several things until you find what fits right, is comfortable, and looks good on you.

Why not try the same thing with discovering your destiny? Obviously there are some things you cannot just “try”—such as being an astronaut or the president of the United States—but one thing is for sure: You cannot drive a parked car. Get your life out of “park,” and get moving in some direction. I don’t suggest going deep in debt to find out if you should own a business, but you could begin in some small way, and, if it works, take it to the next level. As we take steps of faith, our destinies unfold. A confident woman is not afraid to make mistakes, and if she does, she recovers and presses on.

Lord, I want to be moving in the right direction with my life. I trust You to guide my steps as You did Abraham

Not quite as jolly today. But new pics of my nephew make everything else not really matter at all. <3

R-I-S-E U-P!!!

They dominated the first half. They blew a 20 point lead in the 3rd and first half of the 4th so that Seattle was within 6. Seattle scored with 30-something seconds left. And the Falcons answered that ass with a field goal to win the game with less than 15 seconds left!!! When Matt Bryant hit the field goal, my entire neighborhood blew up screaming! It's such an exciting time to be a fan of the game because the playoffs, for the most part, have just been that good. I can't even imagine how mind-blown I might be if I were a die-hard Falcons fan (Big Tex loooooooves the Falcons). They are ONE WIN away from going to the big game. If the Falcons win the conference next week, it will be the first time since '98 that they've made the trip to the Super Bowl. I just hope I don't get accused of bandwagon jumping. The way I see it, there's nothing wrong with rooting for your local team to do well so long as you're not trying to act like you've been down "since the red helmets," ya know?

Good luck Dirty Birds!

RIP Whitney Houston

I'm still in shock on this news, which broke last night in primetime here in the East. I really, really hope that when the tests come back, we find drugs were not the primary cause of her sudden death. If only to silence people i feel have been so mean and snarky about her death. Some of the comments I've read this morning have been down right cruel. But had a thought in comfort: can you imagine what the choir sounds like in Heaven...with what the sins of the earth have taken from us?

R.I.P Whitney. I was rooting for you.

Sending up a very special prayer to the Big Guy Above tonight. I just found out they found two little holes in my nephew's heart. I hope it's not as serious as it potentially sounds.

<3 you little AI,

Local Boy

Wow...I just realized the guy that scored the winning touchdown to get the 49ers to the NFC Championship is from Hoodbridge. Ahmad Brooks. I remember him; he was a Hylton boy from my senior year at the P-o-t. Looks like DMV was ballin hard today!

M-M-Mini Turkey (Test) Loaves

Made my first attempt at mini turkey meatloaves tonight (mainly because I had a craving for ground turkey but didn't want to make burgers). They turned out small but waaaay more tasty that I originally anticipated. I wish I'd taken a picture; they weren't the prettiest but they were cute lil meat muffs. This was one of those rare times when I didn't follow a recipe; just threw things together.

So I don't forget what I didCollapse )

Tica's Spicy Crockpot Chicken Soupa

When I came home for lunch today, my original intent was to make Salsa Chicken in the crockpot...but wound up with a pretty awesome spicy soup instead. I'm almost afraid to try to make this again because I want it to turn out exactly like this again...only better.

4x frozen chicken breasts (I think it was roughly about a pound)
1x can Rotel original
Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning pack
1/2 container of Artichoke Garlic Salsa

I sprinkled the Ranch seasoning on the chicken breasts, then added other seasoning (I think I used Weber grill seasoning) and garlic powder. Then dumped in the can of Rotel and the half container of salsa. Cooked in the Crockpot for...6 hours-ish?
At first, I was a little hesitant because I opened the lid and it was waaaay watery. I added too much tomato AND forgot to drain them. However, it smelled REALLY good. Dinner was ~2 of the chicken breasts (whole) with the sauce and a little cheese on top and half a bag of steamed veggies. But after I finished eating and was searching for tupperware, I looked at it again and realized I should have shredded the chicken because it was perfectly soupy. I think I will toss in this bag of 'mexican vegetables' (since when did adding corn and red peppers to broccoli qualify this mix as 'mexican,' Kroger?) when I have the leftovers tomorrow for lunch to make it more of a stew.
I love when I throw a bunch of stuff in the crockpot and come away with a few servings of a great healthy (and filling) meal!
